Abstract
Molded PUR-Foam has to be considered the cushioning material #1 for car seats today. Worldwide, efforts are made to improve the economics of manufacturing a finished car seat as well as to achieve the best ride support and comfort. Recent developments in these areas will be discussed, putting main emphasis on “foam-in-cover” technologies, “dual hardness seats” and modifications thereof with respect to the related process and resulting seating comfort.
