Abstract
Most everyone should know by now that air cargo carriers have the nagging problem of trying to meld universally squared off crates, cartons and containers into the cargo holds of basically round tube-like aircraft. Because of this fact all aircraft containers, not only temperature-controlled containers, come in all sorts of shapes and sizes according to the types of aircraft an air cargo carrier operates. For instance, in the Japan Air Lines cargo system, there is currently a supply of over one-hundred and thirty-four refrigerated containers of varying shapes and sizes. They are in constant use all over the world and are carried on board the Japan Air Lines fleet of eighty-five aircraft which includes seven Boeing 747F pure freighters and three Douglas DC8F pure freighters.
Japan Air Lines utilizes and maintains a full line of refrigerated containers but as an industry we've only begun to scratch the surface. It is in all our best interests to work together to continue to constantly improve the state of the art for the benefit of all factions of our business.
