Abstract
Statistical process control has been widely used in many countries and industries. This paper covers an aluminum sand foundry utilizing statistical process control and the control charts used to maintain uniform quality during manufacturing processes.
Variable charts, the X̄ and R - Average and Range; and the P chart - also known as the Shewhart control chart, are discussed in this paper. This paper covers different findings of the processes that run out-of-control at various production stations and processing departments. A chart is a very effective tool to identify assignable causes of process variation.
