Abstract
The typical automotive parking brake system is comprised of the cable network and the activating control (lever). In past designs it has been necessary, both at the time of installation and as field maintenance was required, to adjust these systems manually.
The implementation of the self-adjusting hand lever into this system does away with the previous manual methods of system adjustment. In this paper the design concept and the advantages of the self-adjusting system are investigated.
