Abstract
A numerical method for the calculation of pressure distribution on automobile bodies is developed, utilizing panel approach already established in the literature. In the present phase, by resort to Green's identity, the road vehicle body is represented by doublet singularities. Attention is given to the modeling of the wake shed off the aft part of the body. The plausibility of the method is investigated by application to simple geometries. Preliminary results indicate that the method can predict the velocity potential with reasonable accuracy, but further refinement is required to predict surface pressure distribution accurately.
