Abstract
This paper describes an on-the-road Electric Vehicle test program that was conducted at the General Motors Proving Ground to assess the performance and durability of a Ni-Zn battery system in a vehicle environment. Vehicle driving schedules, and the results of battery pack service and cycle life under various conditions are emphasized. A general description of the Ni-Zn cell design and the installation of the battery pack in the test vehicle is included.
