Abstract
To control hydrostatic system noise requires knowledge of its characteristics relative to design and operating parameters. Pump and motor noise have been characterized for normal operating ranges of axial-piston, mobile applications. Using this data, combined with characteristics of other components, system design and operating parameters can be chosen so that the total response function minimizes the noise potential of each component.
