Abstract
The present trend in control systems is to extend the application possibilities of existing fluid power technology by using the intelligence, flexibility and speed that the micro-computers are offering in a constantly improving cost efficient manner. Several years ago it was pointed out that the micro-computer’s role in closed loop control would involve the following areas:
-
-Closing the loop
-
- Pre-loop processing
-
- Peripheral processing
-
- Adaptive control
-
- “Smart” redundancy
-
- Improved time-optional control
By example, this paper* will show how the first three of the six above areas were involved in Extending Servo Applications.
