Development: of a second generation, cost reduced, microcomputer controlled, frequency synthesized, electronically tuned, AM/FM/Stereo receiver with a wider frequency response, higher power audio system, an auto-reverse, DolbyR NR cassette player option and Hi-Fi styling is described. Background information, technical details, the process of size reducing the radio circuit assemblies to make room for the cassette option, and the production approach are discussed.
