Abstract
The importance of the structural design engineer is cited as the origin of a new course. Our aero curriculum and a course that fits into that curriculum is described. A course outline that emphasizes engineering on-the-board, and student design projects are described. Difficulties and problems encountered by the students and the instructor are also described. A general unavailability of design data is discussed and recommendations are suggested. Two references, and the detailed table of contents for reference two are also given.
