Abstract
A single chip microcomputer (SAB 80215P) for automotive dashboard applications will be described. The chip is based on a standard SAB 8021 nucleus and includes as peripheral circuitry an a/d converter, 4, 8 and 12-bit counters, keyboard decoder, display driver and a low power time-of-day-clock plus stopwatch and alarm function. RAM and ROM are extended by a factor of two. Stand-by current drain is less than 5 mA. Possible applications are trip computers, air conditioning and electronic instrumentation.
