The Effect of MoS2 Based Lubricants on Automotive Gear Efficiency and Operating Temperatures

Abstract
In order to achieve the federally mandated fuel economy standards for automotive vehicles, passenger car and truck rear axle and differential lubrication must become more efficient.
The results of this study indicate potential for improvement in axle efficiency if MoS2 based lubricants are used.
