Abstract
A new retainer for cylindrical roller bearings made of fiberglass reinforced nylon containing molybdenum disulfide is described. The fourteen year development of the retainer, and of a battery of laboratory tests to evaluate it, are discussed. Test data including Weibull plots of endurance testing is presented. Retainer types and characteristics are discussed and compared.
