Abstract
The finite element method, a computerized mathematical approach to structural design analysis, was evaluated. The study was carried out by analyzing a cast steering knuckle using both a finite element strain analysis and laboratory strain analysis. The results, time, and costs for each method are compared. In addition, working skills required for a finite element analysis were established.
