Abstract
The evolution of sports cars and their performance characteristics in the last 30 years is traced with emphasis upon how they have altered in relation to other types of cars. Their relevancy as a mode of transportation in the 1980's and 1990's is also explored on the basis of past and current design and changing driving conditions.
