Abstract
The ground and flight vibration test methods of the E.C. which are published and/or used in practice since 1968 are reviewed. The survey contains a short description of the methods, indications with regard to their applications and ensuing experiences, and it reflects many and successfull efforts in the field of identification. Ground vibration test methods without a-priori parameter estimation predominate over those with parameter estimation. Only a few methods consider non-linearities. The flight vibration test methods are based exclusively on estimation procedures and much effort is expended to cope with background noise.
