Abstract
The hydraulic system for a new excavator was designed to provide maximum operator control and comfort without sacrificing machine speed and productivity. The final characteristics are a result of the use of a hydraulic system featuring variable displacement pumps with a horsepower-compensated control arrangement, the optimizing of the main control valves for controllability, and the development of a pilot system with convenient operator controls to further enhance the total system performance.
