Abstract
Funds have been made available by the Canadian Government for a STOL demonstration program to last approximately two years starting in early 1974. It is to be the initial phase of a major national program to develop a complete STOL air transport system including aircraft, STOLports, navigation aids, air traffic control, regulations, operating procedures, and other supporting services.
Using specially modified de Havilland Twin Otter aircraft, the commercial demonstration service will be operated by a subsidiary company of Air Canada between STOLports located near the urban centers of Montreal and Ottawa.
