Abstract
A capacitive discharge ignition system has been developed which uses flywheel alternator magnets to charge a single capacitor. In a twin cylinder system, this capacitor is discharged alternately through two ignition coils-one for each cylinder. Timing and distribution information is provided by a separate magnet on the hub of the flywheel and a single magnetic pickup. This system is extendable to 4-cyl.
