Abstract
Vehicle technology, particularly in the VTOL field, has advanced to the point where reliable solutions to the short haul problem are now possible. These require bold new measures if the air transport industry is to provide better, faster, more economically feasible service to millions of passengers between now and 1975. Various studies are discussed and suggestions offered for meeting this vitally important challenge.
