Abstract
VHF and UHF Nav-aids are available or are being developed which can bring modern IFR procedures to many low density airports at a cost much lower than standard ILS or VORTAC. One of these is low-powered, solid state TVOR. Another is DME, of comparable design. Equipment features and performance of both are discussed, as well as the localizer-and-marker system. Visual aids are briefly treated.
