Abstract
The requirements of a vehicle are classified into performance, economy, and convenience factors. Advances in the present battery technology provide the conditions for the competitive existence of electric vehicles for special uses.
Several systems being developed in order to overcome the weight limitation of the lead-acid battery are discussed.
