Abstract
Major airports throughout the world are faced with serious problems in the handling of passengers and their baggage, problems which are certain to increase with the anticipated increase in passenger traffic.
One solution to these problems is a total airport system which incorporates high throughout capacity, reliability, and installation flexibility to satisfy specific requirements. Called the Telecar Baggage System, it sorts a high volume of baggage by carrier, flight, and destination; allows dispersed and remote check-in and claim of baggage; and has the ability to select, remove, or redirect an individual bag.
