Abstract
The dimensioning of keystone piston rings and grooves is discussed. The design of keystone rings and grooves as shown in SAE Standard J929 are compared with some modified designs for diesel and heavy duty engines. A proposed standard is offered to eliminate problems encountered due to the variations in current designs.
