Abstract
A new system for classifying nonmetallic sheet gasket materials provides for the use of “line call-out” numbers to specify physical properties and functional characteristics. A basic six-digit number is employed to describe composition and properties normally considered most important for quality control. Other tests are included on an optional basis. Any existing or new materials within the scope can be specified under the system. New test requirements can be added as appropriate procedures are developed.
