Abstract
This paper describes an investigation involving the casting and testing of cast-to-size permanent mold tensile bars of three aluminum-silicon casting alloys: A132, D132, and F132. Tensile properties were determined at room temperature and at 600 F after exposure for 1/2, 1000, or 10,000 hr at 600 F. The effects of a number of foundry and testing variables on the resultant tensile properties are also described.
