Abstract
The construction and operating characteristics of the Union Carbide hydrogen-oxygen thin electrode module as incorporated into the General Motors Electrovan are described. The interfaces between the fuel cell module and its thermal and its fuel system are considered as well as the interface with the electrical load under a range of steady-state and transient conditions. Accessible state of the art and next generation improvements are described.
