Abstract
This paper describes vector input to a computer for defining valve motion as a function of cam contour and the mechanism function of automotive engine cams. It compares values of angle and magnitude for radial vectors, as used for inspection data criteria with those computed for design precision of cam contour. A procedure for solving a set of simultaneous vector equations is presented, and pertinent computations are extended in the Appendixes provided.
