Abstract
Ten years of experience with multigrade oil in the Marketing and Refinery Department fleets of The Atlantic Refining Co. indicate that this type of oil can satisfactorily lubricate a variety of engines under a wide range of operating conditions. The fleets include such diverse vehicles and equipment as trucks (all types), tractors, cranes, loaders, and passenger cars. The use of the multigrade oil has proven the most economical method to obtain good low-temperature starting and at the same time retain excellent high-temperature performance. At ambient temperatures between 0-100 F, multigrade 20W-40 oil has been found to give excellent performance in all equipment during all seasons.
