Abstract
This paper gives a few statistical values on the powder metallurgy field in France. Differences with the United States methods and results are outlined. Indications of future expansion in the industry are given along with a few results of the researches made to create this expansion. Plants will be built to deliver sintered steel parts having comparatively high mechanical properties which are a function of the density and, hence, of the production method. On laboratory testing, the hot coining seems to be the most promising way to fill the gap between sintered and machined parts.
