Abstract
As a result of dimensional analysis and some preliminary experiments in bulldozing, soil penetration, and land locomotion vehicles, the suggestion is made that if the velocity is low and configurations are similar, any force of soil deforming processes can be expressed by an equation between three dimensionless numbers. This formula is tentatively extended to dissimilar, soil deforming processes. It is supported by the findings of many investigators, but more contributions are necessary to substantiate the approach presented here.
