Abstract
Space turbine demands as well as commercial and military applications put new emphasis on solid rotor alternators. This paper deals primarily with the characteristics of the Nadyne type and compares its advantages with those of other designs. The investigation shows that the Nadyne is well suited for direct coupling to high speed turbines and is lighter in weight and more efficient than other available generators.
