Abstract
This paper discusses and illustrates the application of explosives to bulge forming, deep draw forming, and stretch forming of sheet metal. The discussion includes the criteria used to determine die design, explosive quantity and placement, optimum blank size, and part retainment. Included are the mathematical approaches to the resolution of the problems encountered. The techniques described have been used successfully by the author.
