Abstract
This paper covers the theoretical advantage to be gained by designing transmissions with twin countershafts and the reasons for the chosen method of ensuring equal division of torque. A history of the development is given, together with an account of its present state and future projections. There is a detailed description of the construction and indications of the possibilities opened up by this novel design.
