Abstract
Supersonic air transports will require electrical systems capable of withstanding temperatures estimated at 600 F. The suitability of various materials is discussed with respect to use as conductor and as insulation, and components including resistors, transformers, capacitors, rectifiers, and tubes. The Air Force Hotelec program is reviewed with the significant test results. Areas of required additional development work are listed.
