Abstract
The present work aims to present the instrumented tribological test bench for monitoring and diagnosing tribological failures in internal combustion engines. Using an internal combustion engine coupled with an electric generator, connected to a resistive load bank and instrumented with sensors whose function is to monitor the conditions of tribological failures by means of vibration transducers and sound pressure level in the internal combustion engine, during unloaded and loaded tests, using the NI cDAQ-9178 chassis with Signal express 2013 software, from National Instruments. As well as, engine performance conditions, such as: exhaust temperature (° C); lubricating oil temperature (° C); electric current (A); apparent power (VA); useful power (W); engine power (W); torque (N.m); work / cycle (J); effective mean pressure (N / cm2); and electrical voltage (V), in addition to developing an instrumentation system capable of informing the operator of some of the performance parameters, through sensors coupled to an Arduino Mega module and ATMEGA 328p Standalone microcontrollers, both using the Arduino IDE and the PLX-DAQ program.
