Improving the Concept of Wheeled Vehicles Safety Increase by Mobile Control-Measuring System

The concept of vehicles operational properties ensuring at different stages of life cycle on the example of movement and position stability is improved. The structure of its main components is determined on the basis of modern approaches to ensure the safety of their usage. The concept is based on integrated approach which provides: at designing stage – development of theoretical foundations based on modern approaches and methods to improve accuracy of evaluation and prediction of vehicles performance characteristics; development of structures with high resistance and built-in controls; at productional stage – technological quality assurance of machines systems that directly affects the stability (brake system, steering etc.); production of advanced built-in controls; development of new and improvement of existing methods of testing vehicles for stability; at operational stage – compliance with conditions and rules of vehicles operation; ensuring necessary level of control of units and systems technical condition as well as driver's condition affecting stability. Developed the approach on the example of vehicles stability, based on using of mobile measurement complex with software. Developed requirements for mobile registration and measurement system to evaluate and ensure performance of wheeled vehicles with regard to modern tools and approaches. A modern mobile registration and measuring complex has been created as the basis of intelligent platform. By introducing of mobile control-measuring system with linear acceleration sensors there was experimentally determined the parameter of position stability of articulated wheeled vehicle on the example of articulated wheeled tractor with a nominal towing force of 35 kN. Research results could be used for certification, operation and modernization of wheeled vehicles. Also obtained results could be used to enhance traffic safety.
