Abstract
Research shows that Brazil is among countries of Latin America, Africa and Asia which are considered as bad fuel market [1]. Fuel with poor quality reduces considerably the lifetime of fuel filter installed in vehicles. For this reason, the correct dimensioning of this component is extremely important. In order to improve this development, it is necessary to enlarge the knowledge of the fuel filter. This paper correlates the fuel filter bench test with field results improving the feasibility to use the laboratory data to estimate the fuel filter area and consequently the product lifetime.
