The Improvement of Emission Conversion Performance by Effective Use of the Precious Metals Within a Catalyst Using the High Cell Density Hexagonal Substrate

The high density hexagonal cell substrate which balanced an emission conversion performance, a pressure loss, and thermal shock resistance was developed. And, the new hexagonal substrate was launched for the first time in the world. By the optimized design of the coat thickness and the number of the cells, the emission conversion performance regarding the coat quantity was inspected experimentally. The emission conversion performance was improved by this way in comparison with a conventional substrate, and it enabled the launch into the market of the development substrate.
