Possibility of Collision Mitigation Brake System for Pedestrians~Analysis Using The Hiyari-Hatto Database
Published October 03, 2012 by Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan in Japan
In this research, Hiyari-Hatto scenes at the time of a pedestrian appearance were analyzed using the Hiyari-Hatto database of JSAE. Based on this result, the effectiveness of Collision Mitigation Brake System for pedestrians was estimated. The system will have around 50% of effects in the case of going straight, around 30% in the case of turning right and few in the case of turning left. Because many pedestrian accidents occur in going straight, it is more effective to apply the system to going straight first.
