Thermal Behavior of Hydrogen Storage Tanks for FCV in Fast Filling (Fifth Report)~Verification of the Safety of Fast Filling that Uses Pre-Cooled Hydrogen Gas
Published October 03, 2012 by Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan in Japan
We implemented fast filling tests using -40° hydrogen gas in accordance with filling protocol SAE TIR J2601 and investigated the target filling pressure, the temperature in the tank when it was filled to full volume. As a result, we confirmed that there was no excessive filling or excessive temperature rise when the tank is filled to the target filling pressure. We also confirmed that there was no excessive filling or excessive temperature rise when the tank is fully filled to 100% SOC, and that the filling in accordance with the filling protocol is able to be conducted safely.
