Optimum Design of Fuel Consumption and NV for 4WD Vehicle Under Drivetrain Non-Linearity and Powertrain Control

To prevent rattle noise caused by fluctuation in 4WD drivetrain rotational speed, torsional characteristics and rear wheel torque control were optimized using simulation model. By reducing the speed fluctuation by mode transition using non-linearity vibration characteristics such as its dependence on torque or hysteresis, we were able to reduce the rattle noise while minimizing the effect on fuel economy.
