Abstract
This paper describes a Scalable System Architecture for emerging markets like BRIC, with platform products for A-CAR segment. A system architecture using Basic Function Controller (BFC), integrated with Remote Keyless Entry (RKE), Immobilizer, Engine Start Stop (ESS), Push Button Start and PAssive Start and Entry (PASE) is illustrated in this technical paper. The concept of function/feature integration, Its scalability, key factors to be considered for optimum level of functional integration are described. The evolution of platform product ‘BFC’, benefits for OEMs and its scalability for various vehicle segments are explained. Analysis on emerging markets, comparison between mature and emerging markets for body controllers is stimuli for BFC development.
