Simulation and Experiment on Engine Performance and BSFC for 2-Stage and Sequential Turbo Diesel (Second Report)

The 2-stage and sequential turbo system was proposed in order for diesel engine to be a clean and low CO2 emission, and to get the high excess air ratio and high torque at low engine speed. The 2-stage turbo system consists of the high pressure turbocharger and the turbocharger as before of the super clean diesel. In the previous report, the proposed turbo system was explained by the simulation results.
In this paper, the engine performance was explained mainly by the experimental results. The improvements of fuel consumption were obtained in the 2-stage turbocharger at low and high engine speeds.
