Abstract
Engine mount heat resistance and durability were achieved while maintaining processability by using xanthogen modified chloroprene rubber which increases in molecular weight during curing. In addition, the dynamic characteristics were enhanced by reinforcement using surface-modified silica and optimization of the anti-aging ingredient. This enabled development of engine mount materials with dynamic characteristics equal to those of conventional natural rubber, and heat resistance and durability that quite exceeded those of conventional natural rubber.
This technology can help to ensure noise and vibration product appeal over long periods at low cost without requiring special designs such as stoppers, heat shields, and extended radiator fan operating times, even in regions with harsh heat environments.
