A Study of Reduction of the Occupant Injury Level With Respect to Comfortable Sitting Posture in Vehicle Frontal Collision~Controlling Impact Behavior by Using the Comfortable Device

Abstract
Recently, 41 percent of the consumers require comfort and safety performance in the viewpoint when a new vehicle is bought. In this study, in order to satisfy the needs from consumers, comfortable device to improve safety performance at the vehicle frontal collision is developed. For example, the technique of controlling impact behavior by using a footrest and a table is proposed. As a result, it is clarified that these devices prevent from occurring submarine phenomenon because of reducing amount of pelvis movement by up to about 60 percent. Therefore, technical guideline concerning the comfort and safety performance of the comfortable device is proposed.
