Abstract
An algorithm has been proposed to generate three-dimensional road model using Delaunay triangulation combined with weighting function interpolation in this article. Surface data is measured by multi-function laser road detector. Based on this algorithm, a road model generation system has been developed. This system can generate road model of different grid forms and its corresponding road documents, besides, it can be called by automotive simulation software directly. The verification of this road model, by means of power spectral density comparison and simulation analysis in Adams, indicates that it can truly reflect the characteristic of the actual road surface roughness.
