Abstract
DI-PCCI combustion process is simulated using CFD with a novel combustion model taking account of an autoignition of non-homogeneous mixture. Here, the effects of injection condition and EGR rate on pressure rise rate and NOx and CO productions are especially focused. The result shows that the tendencies of emission characteristics of nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide and unburnt hydrocarbon agree with that measured by the experiments. Furthermore, CO and HC are produced mainly in the tail region of the fuel spray.
