Event: JSAE Spring Conference
To examine the thoracic injuries of the pregnant women drivers involved in frontal vehicle collisions, a series of sled tests using pregnant woman dummy (MAMA-2B, AF05) were performed. Chest deflections were measured with two Infra-red Telescoping Rod attached to the inside plate of both the second ribs. The effects of seatbelt and an airbag for chest deflections were also considered. The results might be useful for decreasing thoracic injury severities and fatalities of the pregnant women in frontal vehicle collisions.
