Abstract
This work refers to development of a methodology for durability evaluation and design for a passenger car break lines using CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) simulation tools in order to evaluate design proposals and guide the design to achieve durability and robustness expectations, shorten development time.
The objective of CAE analysis was firstly performs normal modes analysis for the break line and part of break system, modal frequency response analysis and finally durability analysis with proving ground road loads. Results from simulation were compared to proving ground durability tests, showing good correlation results which can be used as a reference to evaluate and design in advance break lines concepts.
